I am an experienced Integrative counsellor. I work with different approaches depending on clients needs. I mainly use Person Centred but also incorporate Inner Child, Gestalt and Psychodynamic techniques.
I work in a non-directional way as you are the expert of you. I will work to help you gain insight understanding and self-awareness of your unique experience. We are all different and our stories uniquely ours to tell.
I am based in the Stirling /Clackmannanshire area where I can provide a safe, confidential, non-judgmental and empathic space to talk about whatever is troubling you no matter how big or small. I have worked with many issues and conditions including abuse, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship problems, anger management to name a few.
I have worked with Youthpoint in Moray which is part of the Aberlour Childcare Trust providing help and support for under 18s with behavioural and substance abuse problems. There I worked with parents of service users with wide ranging problems. I have also worked with Penumbra who work within GP surgeries in Moray and with students in the local College.
I am a registered member of COSCA (Scotland’s professional body for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I adhere to their ethical framework and in accordance with their guidelines I have regular supervision (this is anonymous so no confidential information is passed to supervisor just discussions on my practice). I also do regular continuous professional development through courses.
I offer one to one confidential counselling creating an environment in which it is safe to share thoughts and feelings in a trusting relationship.
As a person centred counsellor we work together to find a way forward that is right for you.
I offer day, evening and weekend appointments to fit around your schedule.
I have a Diploma in Higher Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy
